OTHER INFO: Students involved in the Spanish Club get additional credit.
This class is conducted in Spanish. Students get a firmer, more solid foundation on the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students review topics covered in previous courses and new ones are introduced, namely school rules, extracurricular activities, getting ready for an event, daily routines, clothing, public places, giving directions and childhood memories. Besides using textbooks and readers, students in this course use different technological resources to make presentations and projects, watch films in the target language, read short stories, and write their own stories or versions of stories read in class in order to increase their vocabulary in Spanish, as well as improving their pronunciation and fluency in this language. Students review the grammar learned in previous courses and learn to combine tenses such as preterit and imperfect. Students will correspond with students in Spanish–speaking countries through epals and Skype.
